Psychodrama is an integrative therapeutic approach that employs guided dramatic action to examine problems or issues raised by an individual or in a group process. Conceived and developed by Jacob L. Moreno, MD, psychodrama uses experiential methods, enactment and reenactment, sociometry, role theory, and group dynamics to facilitates insight, growth and change.  Psychodrama clarifies issues, increases physical and emotional well-being, enhances learning, and develops new skills.

Boston Psychodrama Institute is founded by Maria Mellano, LICSW, CP/PAT and Joel Thayer, CHHC, MFA, JD, to bring comprehensive training and supervision in psychodrama, sociometry, group psychotherapy and individual psychotherapy to the Greater Boston Area. Our training groups give students the opportunity to learn and experience a vast array of psychodramatic techniques including doubling, role reversal, scene setting and enactment. All these approaches enhance our capacity to work more creatively and spontaneously and can be integrated and utilized in many different theoretical models.

In addition, our staff is available to lead on-site training, demonstrations, and individualized workshops. For more information, please contact us.
